Absences
It is your responsibility to check the Class Blog and Google Classroom to find out what you missed. It can also be helpful to have the number of a friend from class. You can ask them for details, or have them get copies of handouts for you. Do NOT copy answers from your friends - you need to do your own work.
Often parts of class can be completed from home while you are absent (if you feel up to it). If you missed a lab, test or activity that can't be made up at home or if you have questions, need a handout or notes AFTER checking both the Class Blog and Google Classroom you can email me and/or make an Office Hours Appointment.
YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT YOU MISSED WHEN YOU COME TO ME.
Good Example: Ms. Hazen, I was absent on Monday and missed the Kaibab Deer Lab. My friend Jordan says it was a simulation game with a a handout. He came with me and will help me play the game and collect the data if you can give me the game board and handout.
Bad Example: Ms. Hazen, I was absent sometime two weeks ago. Did I miss anything?
Make up work must be completed in a timely manner (e.g. 2 days absent…turned in 2-3 days later). Long Term Projects (Assignments that the student has known about for a week or more) are due when the student returns to school unless other arrangements have been made with the teacher.

- Came in promptly
- Brought a friend who knew the directions to the Activity/Lab
- Asked for specific things (game board and handout)

- Waited WEEKS to come in after absence
- Didn't check the Class Blog or Google Classroom
- My answer: Yes, you missed something - school continues even when you are absent. Look at the Class Blog and Google Classroom and I'll be happy to help you when you know exactly what you need help with.
